I hope people come back after things get fixed... (Why is the mobile site still down? <<sigh>>) It's hard to keep interested when I post and no one replies. And when I check the backlog, there aren't many new messages. :(
Ok I know it is easy to complain. I have complaints. However I don't want the people who have been putting what I suspect to be hours they could have spent at a park with a loved one to read this and think 'well no one gives a shit anyway.' I give a shit. I know you do too. But since I am not the one fixing the problem all I am going to do is passout rainbows and unicorns to the people working on this and have faith that it will be worked out.
well put, as always! and yes I do care, other wise i would have been long gone.
I said I would be here until lights out, and I plan to keep it. I just may be less here as I wished! there are as many friends to talk to, as it used, and that hurts!
Even #Qaiku is giving me better feedback, then my #jaiku profile.
Personally, I really miss Jaiku, actually I miss the people and of-course using it on the go via the mobile side. Here's hoping that it gets up to speed soon.
It'll come back! I'm still here. Other people are lurking around just waiting. Their frustration with no threads and 140 character limits building like a poison in their system.
@map: me over there too, but still here as well. but here checking in only via IM. qaiku has lack of that, but working alright, so no complaints yet. ;)
i am a lurker!! unfortunately, since i am on the go all the time--the m site being down really kills it for me. (but like @CJ i am sending good web-wishes to those fixing the problem in hopes that all the good vibes gets the ball rolling) :) ::sends good karma::
i dont know if this is the same with all of you, but I consider each and everyone of those I follow here, my friend.
Even without knowing any of you, I've became attached and enjoy talking and sharing both my and your experiences.
That makes #jaiku the best Social Network I have ever been in, pair with some IRC channels.
Even if this doesnt get any better, I would like to show my appreciation for all of you, my friends. Thank you
still here occasionally, miss all of you, and will definitely use it a lot more when the mobile solutions are back in place. hopefully everyone will come back then as well.
@ymb I'm hoping that it won't be a feature war so much as a productive collaboration with everybody getting the benefit. Ideally they would also add OMB support so that users aren't locked in to any 1 platform.
While I breathlessly wait for the m. site to come back I do want to take a second to thank all the folks working to bring Jaiku back. I don't have the skills to help but if any of you find yourselves in Philly I'd love to buy you guys a beer/soda/whatever
@adewale hehe by now u should already created there an account lol
basicly u can set your profile access with diff levels, like, everyone, qaiku users, followers, manually chosen.
Not only on posts but channels, feeds, etc
Yeah, "feature war" is the wrong phrase, i was thinking that with friendly rivalry everyone wins (more features will get implemented and the popular ones can be copied between systems)
Everything i have read so far implies that Jaiku, identi.ca and qaiku all get that federation is the way forward
NO feature 'wars' should be necessary. Isn't that what has brought down the Web 2.0? A nice collaboration is always appreciated. I think as tech savy people we are above that. Sure more features would be great (DM hint hint) and privacy is nice. However it is the web and it is never totally private. But instead of looking at the tiny details that every single person wants/needs/desires can we all agree that some details are a must? I know the Mdot site is being worked on. That to me is the first and foremost because most of us post while out and about. I have Jaiku'd in church! Mdot first, the rest of the details later. Right?

I only wish I had the time to be doing what I said I'd do on the mobile version of the site.

I hope folks come back, as I find Qaiku a bit half baked and Twitter is overwhelmed all the time.

Well the founding functionality of Jaiku still beats others, once these kinks are ironed out people will return.
I am an optimist :)

Once m. comes back I'll happily kiss twitter goodbye

@alex there a few thing we could learn from #qaiku, like the language filtering, the Radar, extra privacy options
But we have the awesome #imku that they lack!

Most of the Finns are gone to Qaiku (and left Jaiku), but I'm hanging on here!

@alexleonard hey!!
6 months, 2 weeks ago by cybette
so cool to see "@cybette" around here (kinda rare nowadays) :)
6 months, 2 weeks ago by cybette
Hello there :) See you around twitter sometimes, but yeah, very much looking forward to everyone returning to the Jaiku fold.
6 months, 2 weeks ago by alexleonard
@BUGabundo Could you expand on the "extra privacy options" from Qaiku?
6 months, 2 weeks ago by adewale
seems the return to jaiku might be slowly happening, as each feature is resurected.
The qaiku feature "war" will be interesting ;)
6 months, 2 weeks ago by ymb
Oh and opera-mini (despite a few "rendering bugs") makes jaiku mostley usable on the go
6 months, 2 weeks ago by ymb
Opera mini does make the normal site pretty much alright.

http://djaiku.appspot.com/explore shows what the mobile site is going to look like when it comes back.
@ymb I'm hoping that it won't be a feature war so much as a productive collaboration with everybody getting the benefit. Ideally they would also add OMB support so that users aren't locked in to any 1 platform.

Aye, feature war doesn't sound too beneficial. The more collaboration going on the better :)

@termie deployed a new version of the software on jaiku.com. The changes are described here: http://termie.jaiku.com/presence/185abe82cb244255a8918c51407762d0
6 months, 2 weeks ago by adewale
@adewale: I'm not sure if it's actually deployed yet. If it is, it has some settings turned off because I can't see the changes.
6 months, 2 weeks ago by lemonad
(Sorry, forget about me. Must have been dreaming when I checked half an hour ago, now I see one of the changes :)
6 months, 2 weeks ago by lemonad
i still dont see some of them, like the links to rss
6 months, 2 weeks ago by BUGabundo
never mind just saw them in the BOTTOM... thats bad UI
6 months, 2 weeks ago by BUGabundo
@BUGabundo I actually do have an account on Qaiku: http://www.qaiku.com/home/adewale/stream/
It's early and I'm waiting for my hay-fever pill to start working but where would you prefer the RSS/Atom feeds to be?
6 months, 2 weeks ago by adewale
on the right side? and also in the source headers to be seen by the browser
6 months, 2 weeks ago by BUGabundo
I still stop by every now and then. I really miss the mobile client. Testing opera mini now.
Seems kind of quiet here though.
